AScension congregation

History of Ascension Congregation

Unless the Lord builds the Church, the builders labor in vain. (Psalm 127:1 NIV).
Big things have small beginnings”; so is The Ascension Congregation. Ascension Presbyterian Church of Ghana, started as a prayer group in Openshaw 113 Harley Street, on the 24th of August 2013. initially, it was difficult to have a place of worship, but the impossible Father made it possible,

The birth of the Presbyterian Church in Manchester was a dream come true. It had been the vision of a group of Presbyterian-nurtured brethren to write their names in history and truly they did.
The focus of discussions on that day was on time, order of service, finance, and how to advertise the church.  The pioneers concluded that members should contact every known Presbyterian in Manchester.  It was also agreed that posters should be sent to shops owned by Ghanaians in Manchester and to immediately establish contact with Rev. Ben Larsey, who was then in charge of all Presbyterian congregations in Britain and Ireland.  His encouragement and advice helped the group in many diverse ways.

To the glory of God, the numbers increased, and the house could no longer accommodate the group. They then moved to Chichester Road, Hulme M15 5EU.

On the 9th of March 2014, the church moved to a new place of worship and on the 13th of April 2014, they invited the Faith congregation in Leeds to fellowship with them.
